Melissa Soalt - Author of the Month
In addition to teaching no-nonsense self-defense skills, part of my mission is to redress myths about women. Both age-old and New Age beliefs paint a dangerously lopsided picture of women as all-nurturing do-no-harmers, devoid of aggressive nature or killer instinct. Not only is this view bogus, it keeps women tethered to a victim role. I love the photos in which she looks really tiny, yet completely homicidal. She has this really fun approach that involves waiting for an opening and then going crazy and "attacking like a junkyard bitch." Monday, April 16, 2001
The Ice Hotel - Quebec Canada
Sounds uncomfortable; thank god they provide animal pelts and have a dedicated vodka bar. Monday, April 16, 2001
How to Date Young Women
Why she's afraid of you and how to overcome her fears How to act, dress and talk to interest and attract her How to pass her tests of your determination or sincerity How to spot a cockteaser, then use her to meet her girlfriends, who may be interested in you Don't wear any of the forbidden 54 accessories I think that the entire list of topics covered in this book make the first point kind of obvious. Creepy. Tuesday, April 10, 2001
MC Hawking's Crib
Stephen Hawking would like to say, that I'm a crazy motherfucker from around the way. Kicking science like no one else can, my dick is twice as long as my attention span. That robot voice is funny. Tuesday, April 10, 2001
The Hapless Dilettante News
I really, really like this site. Articles like "Breakfast with The Scream, Just Ask Lucrezia (Borgia), The Graceland Tales (in which Whan that Aprill with his shoures sote The droghte of Marche hath perced to the rote
becomes
When thet April hits with showers shitty And jist like March, cold as walrus titty and continues on a hillbilly pilgrimage to Graceland), and Samuel Beckett Interviews - I was rolling around in glee. Maybe I like it too much. Tuesday, April 10, 2001
Waiting
"Am I in love? -- Yes, since I'm waiting." The other never waits. Sometimes I want to play the part of the one who doesn't wait; I try to busy myself elsewhere, to arrive late; but I always lose at this game: whatever I do, I find myself there, with nothing to do, punctual, even ahead of time. The lover's fatal identity is precisely: I am the one who waits.
This site also contains some Kafka works, a couple of the more pertinent being "Before the Law" and "An Imperial Message." Tuesday, April 10, 2001
Teens Overcome by the Holy Spirit at Citgo Station
The Holy Spirit fell on them! It was amazing! Finding God at a rest station? Tuesday, April 10, 2001
Howard's Tribute Band Heaven
This is really, really bizarre. If you read down far enough, you will find evidence of rampant paranoia. The best part is that all these serious comments about "sabotage" and "censorship" are centered around a site for cover bands. If you go to the main page or browse the rest of the site, you will find photos of presents from his ex-girlfriends. I don't get it. Tuesday, April 10, 2001
